Obituary of Robert H Wisner
Robert H. Wisner, Sr., 84, New Florence went to be with the Lord at his Home surrounded by his loving family who simply adored him on February 23, 2014. He was born December 29, 1929 in New Florence at his family’s home a son of the late Lemon Beam and Mary Jane (Garland) Wisner. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 59 wonderful years Sally (Updyde) Wisner; children Robert H. Wisner, Jr., New Florence; Sheila J. Carter and husband Henry, Ligonier; Debra E Luther, Pleasant Unity; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who all loved their Pap very much and whom he loved back just as much. Also a sister Geraldine Boring and husband James, Robinson; brother-in-law Leroy Fisher, Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death son Glenn E. Wisner, grandson Chad E. Wisner, four brothers John, Cloyd, Paul and Ray Wisner, and four sisters Ruth, Alice, Mary and Eleanor. son-in-law James Luther. Robert worked as a self employed logger and worked at Bethlem Steel Corp, Johnstown and then finally as a coal miner at Florence #2 Coal Mine where he retired from after 17 years. He and his wife Sally were members of the National Campers and Hikers Assoc., Fort Ligonier Chapter for numerous years. He was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Ligonier. Robert loved gardening, logging, camping and his picture taken. He was always ready to pose for the camera. Special thanks to Darla Hall and the staff at Excela Health Hospice for their love and support to Robert and his family during this tender time, and to everyone for their prayers. Family and friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Funeral Service 11 am Wednesday at Christian Missionary Alliance Church Rt. 711 Ligonier, Rev. Larry C. McDonnell officiating, internment Fort Palmer Cemetery.
