Obituary of Patricia L Penrose
Penrose, Patricia L. 75, Bolivar, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, died after a courageous battle with breast cancer late on March 14 at 75 years of age. She is deeply mourned by her family and friends. Her big heart, loyalty and spirited personality are remembered by all who knew her. Pat met Jim Penrose, who was to become her husband, when she was 20. They married in 1962, and enjoyed a lifelong love for 52 years. Their love endured such challenges as separation during Jim’s tour of duty in Vietnam, and the rebuilding of their home after a devastating fire destroyed their residence in 1972. They were partners in every aspect of life, including the family business, J & D Penrose, Inc., where Pat worked as the Office Manager for more than three decades. Theirs was a lasting and special love, admired greatly by their children and family. Pat was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on March 2, 1939, to the late Frank and Helen Boyer Ostheim. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jim. She was the proud mother of two children, Jill Penrose-Smith (Michael) of Bath, Ohio and Brian Penrose (Kerri) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the loving grandmother of four energetic and boisterous grandsons, Tyler, Braeden, Mitchell and Spencer. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy Sheppard of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and Nancy (Allan) Constable of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; a vast extended family; many close friends; and her beloved four-legged companions Hayley and Fawn.Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 17 at The Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home in New Florence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18 at The United Methodist Church, New Florence. Burial will be at Germany Lutheran Cemetery.
