Obituary of LeJeune Pyer
LeJeune Pyer, 83, of Brush Valley, slept peacefully away as he went home to be with the Lord on Sunday March 30, 2014 from the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born on March 23, 1931, in Blacklick, he was the son of the late Jacob and Edna Pyer. LeJeune is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Conrad Pyer, their children Carole Skedel and husband Clay, Brush Valley; and Susan Pyer of Indiana; grandchildren Eric and Leah Skedel and numerous beloved family members, friends and neighbors. Also special to his heart were Eunie, Brittany and Brock. Mr. Pyer was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Thomas Pyer (surviving spouse Pearl), Wayne Pyer (surviving spouse Jean) James Pyer (surviving spouse Janet), and sister Mary, who passed on in childhood. Junie was a member of the Brush Valley United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and lifetime member of the Indiana VFW Post 1989. Mr. Pyer owned and operated his own business in Brush Valley and Drove school bus for United School District for many years. He eventually retired from R & P Coal Co. Junie was an accomplished guitar player and enjoyed playing in groups and at Music Festivals. He was happy to teach his guitar skills to friends the "Pyer" way. A devoted husband, loving father, and true friend . he will be greatly missed. "Absent from the body, present with the Lord." In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Brush Valley United Methodist Church, The American Heart Association, or the Twolick Rod & Gun Club, in his memory. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday and 10 till time of service 11 am Monday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E Philadelphia St, Armagh.
