Obituary of Don E. Plowman
Plowman, Don E., 92, passed away May 14, 2014 at the home of his daughter, Lisa. Born September 17, 1921 in Charles, son of the late George and Rose (Ressler) Plowman. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Olive (Mack); brothers Virgil, Forrest, Lloyd, and James; sisters, Twilight Stutzman and Dorothy Zeiset. Survived by daughters, Karen and husband Mel Lehman, Thomas Mills; and Lisa and husband Dr. Gary Gusmerotti, Jerome; grandchildren Renee Erich, Coatesville; Susan Aquino, Abbottstown; Sandrina Womer, Williamsport; Laura, Nicole and Alyssa Gusmerotti, Jerome; six great-grandchildren; brother Dwight, Wake Forest, NC and sister Jenny Conrad, Clymer; second wife Ruth (Fleming) Empfield, Indiana. He is a former employee of Bethlehem Steel and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II as a member of the U.S. Marines Corp. Member of Shelocta Community Presbyterian Church. Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until time of funeral at 11 A.M. Saturday at Blacklick Community United Methodist Church, Pastors Rick Russell and Wes Yoder officiating.
