Obituary of Sharon Louise Cook

Cook, Sharon L, 64, Irving, TX, formerly of Robinson, died June 3, 2014 at Ashford Hall Living Facility, Irving, TX. Born August 26, 1949 in Johnstown to the late Russell W. Garland and Edith C. (Penrose) Garland. Also preceded in death by her brother James Garland. Survived by Sons Jeffrey Cook of Euless, TX, Gregory Cook of Arlington, TX, and ex-husband Gary Cook of Grand Prairie, TX. Daughter-in-law Janet Cook, beloved granddaughter Isabel Cook, grandson Braden Hicks, and family member Rebecca Haney also of the Dallas, TX area. Numerous cousins, friends, and extended family members from Western PA as well. Special mention to friend Lesha Barbus of Robinson. Sharon was a homemaker as well as an administrative assistant at Hills Department Stores and United Elementary School. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and loved bowling and attending United HS sporting events. Sharon had a special passion for her sons’ teams at United, Jr. League Baseball, and their college teams. She was a friendly face and soul to everyone she came in contact with. Friends received Friday from 4 to 8 PM at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence where service will be held Saturday at 11 AM. Internment at Germany Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Sharon had asked that donations be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, 6810 Rt. 22 Hwy E, New Florence, PA 15944 on her behalf. A final goodbye and honor to Sharon will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church immediately after the service.
