Obituary of Leonard Barbus

Leonard Barbus, 87, Robinson passed away January 21, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Born December 24, 1927 in Climax the son of the late John and Mary (Litesky) Barbus. Also proceeded in death by wife Emma Jane (McDowell) Barbus, brothers John, Frank, Mike, Joseph and Peter Barbus and sister Helen Mulligan. Survived by children Leonard “Slug” Barbus and wife Stephanie; Linda Stewart and husband Frank; Terry Barbus and wife Lucetta; Vicki Montgomery; and Lesha Barbus and friend Erv; 13grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters Agnes Hall, Susie Flickinger, Vernie Nixon, Annie Lear, Theresa Robertson, and brother Andrew Barbus. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, retired coal miner and member of UMWA Local 1257, a season ticket holder for the Steelers since 1969 who was an avid Steeler, Pirate and Penguins fan, social member of Robinson VFW and Bolivar American Legion, an avid hunter and member of Robinson Rod and Gun Club who enjoyed cooking for his family on Sunday. Friends received from 2-8 pm Friday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier Street, New Florence, where service will be held 11 am Saturday. Pastor Ryan Kobert officiating.
