Obituary of Alice C. Harvey

Alice Clara (Roby) Baird Harvey, 89 of Bolivar passed away in Sorrento, Fla. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Born May 30, 1925 daughter of the late John and Clara Roby. Alice will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She loved being a mother and homemaker, gardening, quilting, playing music, going to the Laurel Valley Senior Center and caring for her family. Each winter, for the past 31 years, she looked forward to traveling south to reunite with friends in Florida who had become near and dear to her. She was preceded in death by first husband Arthur Baird, who was killed in Normandy and two brothers, Paul and Earl Roby. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Dean Harvey and three children, Kathy Martin and her husband George; Ronald Wayne Harvey and wife Joyce (Schuster) and Debbie Connolly and husband Bill. Four grandchildren Tony Mollick, Amy Ruozzi and husband Lonnie; Kimberly Miller and husband Marc; Nathan Connolly and wife Haley. One great-granddaughter Jenna Ruozzi. She is also survived by 6 siblings: Zelma Brendlinger, John Roby and wife Dawn; Helen Wagner and husband Bob; Nora Penrose and husband Harold; Ginger Fako; Carol Sacco and husband Dan and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received 3 to 6 PM Sunday and Monday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, PA and 10:15 till time of service 11 AM Tuesday at First Church of Christ, Route 259, Bolivar, PA with Chris Hopper officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Church of Christ, Route 259, Bolivar, PA 15923 or Laurel Valley Senior Center, New Florence, PA 15944.
