Obituary of David A Gregory
David A. Gregory, 80, New Florence passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday June 29, 2011. He was born October 10, 1930 in Webster Springs, WV the son of late Willie and Agatha Gregory. Dave spent his entire life working in the mining industry. He retired from Tunnelton Mining Company in 1992 after 16 years of service where he was the outside superintendent. He was previously employed by North American Coal Company and Maust Coal and Coke of WV in Similar positions. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all sports. He was a member of the Tubmill Trout Club. He will be remembered as a hardworking man who especially enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Mary and family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson John D. Fisher in 2006. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary (Bickel) Gregory; his children Dave Jr. of New Florence; Debbie and her husband John Fisher of Vernon, New Jersey; Garry and his wife Mary of Murrysville; Dr. Bryan of Wallingford; Agatha and her husband Ted Glusko, State College; and Don and his wife Ethel, Knox. Along with grandchildren Derek and Mary (Fisher) Muncy, Gregory Fisher, Jacob and Luke Gregory, Bryan D. Gregory, Kate and Tim Glusko, Zachery, Sam, Amanda and Abbie Gregory. Also these siblings Lenora Cool of Strongsville, OH; John Paul Gregory of Webster Springs, WV; Betty Cornelous of Medina, OH and Bobbie Dillion of Senecaville, OH; Dave's family would like to thank Dr. Hugh Brailler and his office staff ; staff of the Arnold Palmer Pavilion; physicians and staff of Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital and Excela Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. Visitation and services will be private at the request of the family. There will be no public viewing. As an expression of sympathy; contributions in Dave's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
