Born October 18, 1928 in Bolivar the daughter of the late Charles Fredrick and Georgia Virginia (Lear) Crusan. Also preceded in death by husband George L. Baird, son Wayne Baird, sister Grace Roby and brothers Robert, William and Walter Crusan. Survived by children Sheila Sowers and husband Ken, Bolivar; Pam Lichtenfels and husband Chuck, Robinson and Randy Baird and wife Janet, Bolivar. Daughter-in-law Cynthia Baird, Bolivar; grandchildren; Bryan Baird, Denise Columbus, Debbie Blazer, Brad Sowers, Jeff Sowers, Stacey Smith, Randa Bronson, Daniel Tegkoskie, Brock Lichtenfels, Haley Lichtenfels, Tori Lichtenfels;13 great-grandchildren; sisters Alice Smay, Ruth Yeager and Barbara Roddy; brothers Carl Crusan and James Crusan. Betty loved spending time with her family at her home and at the family cottage near the Youghiogheny River Dam. She also enjoyed her flowers, gardening and her pets. She was a retired seemstrees from Bestform with over 25 years of service. Friends received 2 – 4 PM and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St. New Florence, where service will be held 1 pm Wednesday. Rev. Norman C. Kaufman officiating. Internment Fort Palmer Cemetery.
