Obituary of Arthur V Stokes

Stokes, Arthur V., 73, Seward passed away October 27, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born May 3, 1942 in Martinsburg, WV the son of late Arthur and Mildred Stokes. Also preceded in death by mother-in-law Rita Krisko, brothers David and Gerald Stokes. Survived by wife of 24 years Kathryn Kisko-Stokes, son Adam Stokes, former Johnstown Johnnies player Christopher Semprun who became a son to Art; father-in-law Jacob Krisko, Sr.; brother-in-law Jacob Krisko, Jr., brother Allen Stokes and wife Paulie, sister Pam Gasberro, sister-in-law Janet Stokes and numerous nieces and nephews. Art was equipment manager for the Homer Center football team which became his second family, a US Navy Veteran of Vietnam who served on the USS Enterprise, member of Homer City American Legion Post 0493 and Johnstown Corvette Club, also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. The biggest light in Art's life was his son Adam. Friends received 6 to 8 pm Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9 AM Saturday, at Holy Family Church, 425 Bridge St, Seward. Rev. Robert Washko officiating. Internment Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations In Art's name may be made to the Homer Center Education Foundation, 65 Wildcat Ln, Homer City, PA 15748 or an animal rescue charity of ones choice.
