This is my father. He passed away last week. Although he didn't spend much time in my life, I finally had the chance to meet him a few years ago. We had been talking more this past year since my sister (also his daughter) passed away.
I didn't expect my sister or myself to be included in the obituary, mainly because his "wife" wants to believe we never existed.
I'm sorry that it's hard for her to accept the fact that we are here. No one has the ability to pick who their parents are.
I am thankful I had the chance to meet him and I will always remember the times we talked. It's heartbreaking to know that I will never have the opportunity to have a closer relationship with him, but I will never forget who he was.
