Obituary of Richard R Berry, Sr.
Berry, Richard R., Sr., 90, Prospect formerly of Southington, CT, went home to be with the Lord May 12, 2016 at Butler Memorial Hospital. Born September 29, 1925 in Pendleton, OR. The son of the late Miles Arthur Berry and Margaret Esther (Gallagher) Berry. Also preceded in death by wife of 55 years Elsa Victoria (Carlbert) Berry. Survived by sons Richard R. Berry, Jr. and Ronald and wife Laura (Heming) Berry; grandsons Nathaniel and Joshua Berry all of Prospect; half-sister Esther Sylva Stolberg. Dick spent many years working with the Salvation Army and spent his life ministering to others both in Connecticut and when they moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to their grandchildren. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Friends will be received Monday from 12 PM till time of service at 2 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2251 Prospect Road, Prospect, PA with Pastor Ben Oesterling officiating. Internment will be immediately following at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army, Butler Corps, 313 West Cunningham Street, Butler, PA 16001.
