Obituary of Mary Ellen Brett

Mary Ellen Brett of North Bend passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at home. She was 75. Mary was born March 5, 1941 in New Florence, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Laura (Cramer) Heming. She was raised in New Florence where she attended New Florence Elementary School and graduated from Laurel Valley High School. On September 19, 1959 Mary was betrothed to her sweetheart, Jack Brett in New Florence. They settled in Renton in 1976 where she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at A&H Drugstore. In her leisure time Mary enjoyed working puzzles, doing word puzzles, quilting, reading novels, bingo and spending time with her family. Her family remembers Mary as a compassionate and loving person willing to help others anyway she could. Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Jack Brett; son, James Brett; siblings, Violet Berkhamer, Roy Heming, Carl Heming, Robert Heming and Donna Brossett; two grandchildren, Katie and Jamie, and a host of extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers Thomas, Harold, Homer and Gary Heming; sisters Helen Rummel, Lila Mae Kiger, Janet Garland and Roberta Heming. A celebration of life will be held at 11am, Friday, July 29, 2016 at Flintoft's Issaquah Funeral Home, 425-392-6444.
