Obituary of Grace Z. Haire

Haire, Grace Z. (Wagner), 96, New Florence, passed peacefully away on November 2, 2016 at Conemaugh Hospital. Born January 7, 1920, in Heshbon, to Alton "Ray" and Rebecca (Byers) Wagner. Preceded in death by parents also husband, George C. Haire, brothers Everett, Ray, Calvin, and Donald Wagner; and sister Martha Adams. Survived by loving son, George R. Haire; brothers Walter and Ronald Wagner; Sister Clara Kline and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1936 graduate from Brush Valley High School at the age of 16 and a 1939 graduate of Hammon Beauty School in Johnstown. She owned and operated Grace Wagner's Beauty Shop in downtown Homer City. Her greatest achievement in life was being the best MOTHER in the world to her son. She loved to sew, knit and crochet, gardening (raising her own vegetables and flowers from seeds), roses, puzzles (crossword, Sudoku and jigsaw including 3000 pieces), and handcrafting. She is a member of the New Florence United Methodist Church and Laurel Valley Senior Citizens. She started the Wagner's Reunion (Wagner & Luther) by sending 20 postcards and having over 200 relations attending the first reunion. Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held 11 AM Saturday. Pastor Sharon Hamley officiating. Interment Fairfield Cemetery.
