Obituary of John Howard Hughes

Hughes, John Howard, 92, Armagh, passed away February 1, 2017 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born February 13, 1924 in the Mines of Oreminea the son of the late Howard and Lucinda (Zimmerman) Hughes. Also, preceded in death by sisters Lola Hughes and Bessie Treese; brothers William and Melvin Hughes. Survived by wife Agnes (Grannas) Hughes; sons David Hughes, Armagh; Wayne Hughes and wife Lisa, Penn Run; sister Minnie Grannas, Hollidaysburg; brothers Ralph Hughes, Williamsburg and Raymond "Bo" Hughes, New Florence. John Loved the Lord and was a member of Armagh United Methodist Church, US Army veteran of WWII, retired employee of Seward Generating Station, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a talented craftsman who helped with the building of many houses and various other items. He was also a member of Portage Lodge #0220 F.&A.M., American Legion and VFW. Friends received from noon till time of service 1 PM Saturday at Armagh United Methodist Church, 570 W. Philadelphia St., Armagh, PA 15920. Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment Royer Cemetery.
