Tommy was my classmate at DuVal High School and I always looked forward to seeing him at our reunions. I remember him fondly as a very sweet person who was kind to everyone. I wish there were more people like him in the world. RIP Tommy

We shared a great childhood together. Enjoyed our summer vacations from school hanging out at the “Barney” house. Many a basketball game with our gang at the “Lutheran” outdoor court. You were always a fun guy to be with.. we even spent a few years together as roommates in an apartment. Everyone knew you in high school because of your outgoing personality. We shared many moments “growing up” in the hood. Couldn’t have asked for a better friend. You will be missed!

From a friend of long ago and for many years far away. Tom was the pied piper of Varnum Street, leading a group of neighborhood friends during our teens and twenties, until events led most on different paths.
A self-taught musician, good basketball and chess player, general raconteur and friend, I have many fond memories of time with him and the ‘gang’.
My condolences to the family.
Gary

Tommy was my cousin. We did not see each other often but when we did he would always greet me with a big smile and a bear hug. I always enjoyed his laugh and quick wit. Going to miss you, big guy.

Rest in Peace old friend, I will miss our many deep conversations. I was always amazed at your wealth of knowledge and how you truly enjoyed the simple things in life!! May peace and comfort come to your family knowing that you are up there playing that guitar and enjoying all of those good reads! You will certainly be taking Fantasy football to a whole new meaning. Lets all raise a glass to a fellow who was genuine as they come. Thanks for all of our talks and life sharing moments. Let this tired old body go old friend and let that beautiful spirit of yours take you to wherever you ever wanted to go.

Tom was my Godfather and my Dad’s best friend. For my entire life, Tom gave me nothing but love. He encouraged me, challenged and debated me, made time for me, and made sure I always knew that he was proud of me. I will miss his love of music, art, baseball and football. He was smart, witty, and engaging and loved so many people that life brought his way. I will truly miss him. I loved him and was proud to call him my godfather and friend. My condolences to his family during this time and my thanks to them for sharing his life with us.

My condolences to the family in this difficult moments. Please remember that God can comfort us. So draw close to God in prayer so He can draw close to you to comfort you and to give you that peace of God that surpasses all understanding (James 4:8; Philippians 4:6;7).

Tom was a beneficent soul always trying to spread the love of the Lord to those around him. I will miss our "morning message" text. It was nice to know every day someone was thinking of me and sending on encouraging thoughts. He will truly be missed.

I first met Tom in 1989 when we both started work at Ourisman Honda in Bethesda, Maryland. We worked together for 26 years and grew to be great friends. Whether it
was football (the Redskins), baseball (the Yankees), politics, history or his love of old John Wayne movies he could carry a conversation with anyone. Though I never thought of Tom as a particularly religious man, he always treated others as he would have wanted to be treated. An old quote by Samuel Johnson comes to mind....
"the true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely
no good"
He will be greatly missed.

A truer friend one has never had. A lover of the Lord Jesus Christ and a humble but magnanimous soul. Musician, artist and sage counselor whose compassion was freely and widely sown. A reconciler of discord and one whose hearty laugh and wit brought uncontrollable smiles. His knowledge, memory and love of sports approached the legendary. Without fanfare or prestige he brought comfort and joy to many. His influence left no one he knew untouched. His family included relatives, friends, co-workers and strangers. His heart swept you forward with hope. He knew where he was bound. 'Well done good and faithful servant.'
