Obituary of Shirley L Hill
Shirley Lee (Gratosky) Hill, 58, Luciusboro died Wednesday October 26, 2011. She was born September 14, 1953 in Indiana the daughter of late Frank and Minnie (McMasters) Gratosky. She was a devoted wife, mother and Nemaw. She married the love of her life, Henry, on November 27, 1971. They were to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Mirror, mirror on the wall Shannon is like her mother after all. She gave Shirley her first grandchild Logan and youngest Natalie. Jerry George took her daughters hand and place in her heart. Play with my hair her son Wade would tell her when he was young. She had a way of soothing him. He blessed her with two beautiful granddaughters Kalee and Kimberlee. She also love Wade's girlfriend, Stephanie Johnson and her children Clarence, Tyriq and LaShay. She faithfully attended Luciusboro Wesleyan Methodist Church since childhood. Vegetable, flower gardening and tending her chickens were hobbies. But her family was her passion. She deeply loved her husband, children and grandchildren. Spoiling the grandchildren like there was no tomorrow, doing whatever the kids needed and traveling with her husband. She was a Rural Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service for close to 33 years. She died doing a job she loved. Her children always teased that she loved the people on her route more than them. She made many friends "out there" and loved every one, She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Henry and Betty Hill and brother-in-law Clark Fairman. She is also survived by sisters Helen Fairman and Kathryn (Louis) Yugovich, brother Frank (Colleen) Gratosky, sister-in-law Hazel (Chuck) Yeager, brother-in-laws Harry "Butch" Hill and Thomas "Deb" Hill, Special aunt Thelma "her twin" and Uncle Jack Reilly, close friends Thom and Debbie George and Nancy Rhine and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Friends received 1-4 & 6-9 pm Friday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St, Armagh, where service will be held 1 pm Saturday. Rev. Robert Thorton. Interment Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
