Obituary of Patricia K. Baird
Baird, Patricia “Patty” Kay, Bolivar, was born in Johnstown, PA on September 8, 1942 to Joseph and Mary Hall. She peacefully entered Heaven’s gates on February 3, 2018. She was united in marriage to Merle T. Baird on September 2, 1961. They were married for 56 blissful years. A superb mother and homemaker, Patty was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for her loved ones—many have enjoyed her legendary homemade buns. She also loved to crochet personalized blankets for her grandchildren and spend time laughing with her family and friends, many of whom knew her as “Red.” Patty was a follower of Christ and a member of the Germany United Methodist Church. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Isabella Moneysmith, Grace Boyles, and Charlotte Munshower, and brother Joseph Hall II. She is survived by her husband, Merle T. Baird; son Edward (Anna) Baird, Somerset, PA; daughter Teresa (Brian) Caldwell; daughter Sandy (Dustin) Peters; and son Dustin (Elizabeth) Baird, all of Bolivar, PA. She had nine grandchildren, Justin Peters, Shelby Baird, Garrett Baird, Dakota Peters, Olivia Baird, Odessa Baird, Cole Peters, Paden Caldwell, and Paige Caldwell, and one great-granddaughter Ezmie Baird. She is also survived by her sisters Carrie Dean Clawson, Bolivar, PA, and Betty White, Lakewood, CA, and her brother Paul Hall, Bolivar, PA, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held 11 AM Thursday. Pastor Joanie Scarff officiating.
