Obituary of John Lonesky

Lonesky, John "Buck", 70, of Johnstown, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on January 17, 2012. He went to join his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 26, 1941 in Charles the son of late Nick and Annie (Uadiski) Lonesky. Survived by children Kris wife of Bill Patterson, Keith and Donna Lonesky and John and Beth Lonesky. Loving and devoted Grandpap of Gabe, Nicole and Anna Lonesky, Korey Patterson and Jennifer Lonesky. Brothers Steve Lonesky, widower of Becky, Seward; Nick Lonesky, widower of Lela, East Lake, Ohio; Joe Lonesky and wife Jan, Johnstown; sisters Mary "Babe", wife of Vernon Griffith, Armagh; and Helen Miller, widow of Bill, Seward. In addition to his parents also preceded in death by sister Eva Skubic and her widower Bob, Seward. He will be missed by many family members and friends to whom he brought so much joy with his wonderful sense of humor. His little pieces of advice are considered priceless and will always be remembered. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, all kinds of sports, especially the Pens and Steelers, Charles and family reunions and taking long walks in the woods with his dog, Wolfe. He was known for betting anyone a shiny nickel. Buck graduated from United High School where he enjoyed playing many sports. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Before he retired, he was the manager of Gee Bee Bakery and worked various other jobs. The family would like to thank the staff at the Palliative Care center at Memorial Medical and Conemaugh Hospice and his other caregivers for their compassionate care. Friends received 7-9 pm Friday and 11 am until time of service 1 pm Saturday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh. Rev. Robert Washko officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery.
